JerkMate Review: A Reliable Friend in the Cam Site World?

There are a whole lot of cam sites out there, and it can be really hard to find the sort that’s right for you. Some of them can overwhelm you with a bunch of search features you don’t need or understand.

Others are inundated with annoying pop-up or pop-under ads. And some simply don’t have a great selection of feeds to choose from (particularly if you’re looking for guys or couples). 

JerkMate is one of the best-known cam sites around and has a reputation as a playful, easy-to-use site that’s a lot of fun.

How earned is that reputation? Is JerkMate good value for money? And can you find what you’re looking for there?

What is JerkMate? 

JerkMate is, as mentioned, a cam site featuring plenty of feeds of adult performers. It’s renowned for its legendary (and fun) introductory preview site, in which you can ‘play’ with a featured porn star as if she (or they – sometimes you get two for one) were part of an interactive 3D sex game. 

JerkMate is more than a flashy gimmick, though. It’s one of the few cam sites where you can see a good bit of action without paying a cent, and it’s got an innovative and unique payment system that takes away some of the traditional frustrations of a pre-paid credit system. More than that, it typically has thousands of cam models at any given time 

How Much Does JerkMate Cost? 

As is the case with many cam sites, it’s up to individual performers to set their own prices. That means that private chats with some models may be as cheap as $1/minute; conversely, some of the biggest names on the site might go for $12/minute. It ain’t cheap jerking off to really hot chicks. 

If you’re really into privacy, you can pay extra for an exclusive private show. That means that there’ll be no randos sneaking a peek while you and your cam model get down to business. However, you’re depriving them of the extra money they’d be getting from voyeurs, so you’ll need to compensate them.

How much is that? Again – depends on the performer. It could be a few cents per minute, or it could double the cost. 

If you’d rather save on costs a little, you can opt for a Gold Show. The performer sets an amount of ‘gold’ (JerkMate’s tipping currency) and waits to hit the target. Once they do, the private show begins. The price of a Gold Show, as with so many prices, is entirely up to the performer. 

If you prefer your jerk material bought in bulk, you can opt to buy a block of time. You can buy time in 15-minute increments, and the more you buy at once, the bigger the discount you get. It’s a great option if you know you’ll be pulling an all-nighter and you’ve got cash to spare. 

What Kind of Live Sex Experiences can you have? 

One of JerkMate’s biggest strengths is the sheer variety of talent on display. Some cam sites don’t have a great selection outside of girls (which, admittedly, is the biggest draw of cam sites for many viewers). If you’re into guys or trans performers, you’ve historically been out of luck. 

The red-headed stepchild of cam categories – guys – is actually pretty robust on JerkMate. There are hundreds of male performers on at any given time, and JerkMate has around 4000 male performers in total.

Compared to the anaemic numbers other popular cam sites are rocking (I’ve seen single digits before), it doesn’t even compare. They even have some real niche male stuff, like chubby old bears and the like. Whatever floats your boat.

When it comes to trans performers, JerkMate isn’t exactly lacking, either. They have around 3000 trans performers in total, with hundreds online at any given time. They even have a few FTM performers, which is a chronically underrepresented group on the cam scene. 

Finally, there are girls. Most people are on cam sites for ‘em, and good news – JerkMate has a lot of them. There are around 20,000 female performers on the site, and thousands are online at any given time.

If you’re into girls, you’re going to find what you’re looking for without too much effort. Because of the sheer number of girls online at any given time, it’s really easy to find the specific niche that you’re into – MILF, teen, BBW, anal, skinny, whatever. 

Design of the Site 

JerkMate is clean, crisp, and uncluttered. The top and left have your categories and search functions, and the rest of the screen is taken up by the performers’ profile pics. There are no ads at all (not even internal ones) and absolutely no filler. It’s pretty much the Platonic Ideal of cam site design. 

That said, it doesn’t have video thumbnails – even if you hover over the picture. If you want to see what’s going on in a model’s feed, you’re going to have to click in. This is kinda a pain in the ass compared to other sites that do offer this. 

What I Like About the Site 

There’s a lot to love with JerkMate. It’s got a great selection, the prices are competitive, and you can generally see quite a lot for free (even without signing up). If you’re just getting into the wonderful world of cams, you can do much worse. 

What I Don’t Like About the Site 

There’s not a whole lot to complain about here. In fact, I already complained about the one negative to JerkMate – its lack of preview video on the thumbnail hover. It’s nice to be able to get a sneak peek without having to click through (I’ve got a lotta girls I wanna check out – help me out), and I didn’t realize how much I’d miss that feature until it was gone. 

Conclusion – is it Worth it? 

In a nutshell: yes. It’s not often I only find a single thing wrong with a cam site, and it’s to JerkMate’s credit that it gets so much right in a world of cam sites that get so much wrong. It’s virtually ad-free, it’s got a huge stable of performers, and it won’t break the bank. You can’t really argue with that.
