The Steamy Camsoda Review: Is It Worth Joining In 2023?

I’ve made no bones of the fact that cam sites are to porn what video games are to movies. Sure, sometimes you just wanna veg out and watch other people do stuff.

But often, you wanna be in the driving seat yourself. And short of going out and actually having sex (and who has the time for that?), cam sites are the best way to direct your own private porn experience. 

As always, the question is which cam site is the best for your particular needs. Are you looking for a decent budget or freemium experience, or do you want something a little more high-end?

Are you looking for a site that has a robust stable of fetish performers, or are you more interested in stable, high-quality HD feeds? 

I am on a one-woman mission to review every cam site out there and give you the skinny on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the cam site world.

This brings me to today’s cam site: Camsoda. 

What is Camsoda? 

Camsoda is a cam site with a heavy emphasis on the aforementioned ‘freemium’ model. It’s been around since 2015, making it very much a new kid on the block, and it has rapidly established itself as one of the go-to cam sites. 

It has a respectable amount of free smut going on even before you buy any of the site’s proprietary tokens, though this is limited to group chats. For private one-on-one sessions, you’ll need to reach for the e-wallet and get some of those tokens. 

The Quality Of Camsoda Content 

Camsoda has, above all else, a hell of a lot of girls. This is obviously great for those of us who like girls (of whom there are many). 

The site doesn’t have too much in the way of ‘categories’, as is pretty common on cam sites (this ain’t PornHub). What they do have is girls, guys, trans, and couples. 

Girls 

The meat and potatoes of Camsoda, there are hundreds of girls active on Camsoda at any given time. The variety of girls means that you can find pretty much anything you want – BBW, Latinas, Ebony, girls putting on blowjob shows, girls riding dildos, Korean girls, Japanese girls, etc. etc. etc. 

Guys

Not Camsoda’s strongest showing. I checked a couple of times, and I never saw cam guys go into the double digits. If you’re a gal looking for dick (or a gay guy), you’re probably best off looking elsewhere. 

Couples 

A little better served than the ‘guys’ section, this section is still sadly undercooked compared to the number of girls on the site. There’s around a page’s worth of couples going at it at any given time (roughly 20-30 feeds), and most of those are girl-on-girl. 

Trans 

Not quite as good as a dedicated trans site, but not too shabby compared to other generalists. There are 40-50 trans performers online at any given time. Free feeds vary from trans girls jerking off or fucking their assholes with dildos to simply sitting there eating. 

Tags 

You can refine your search further with tags that will help you find what you’re looking for. These tags function much like categories on the tube sites (BBW, anal, fisting etc.). They’re useful for narrowing the playing field pretty quickly, although you may find that in some underserved categories (like guys), the tags are all but useless. 

Design Of Camsoda 

Camsoda’s design is pretty typical for a cam site: the majority of the page is taken up by cam feeds, the categories/tags/etc. are down the left-hand side, and there are tags across the top to help you quickly get to the stuff you wanna see. There’s no clutter and no extraneous information – just the stuff you need to get to jerking off ASAP. 

Actually, I tell a small fib – there are a few ads down the right-hand side of the screen. Remember that Camsoda is a freemium site, and they need to keep the lights on somehow, so this goes with the territory. 

One feature of Camsoda that puts it above many of the competition is its thumbnail previews. A lot of sites either don’t have live previews of thumbnails at all, or they only have them if you hover over them. 

Camsoda puts them all to shame with live previews pretty much across the board, meaning you can just hang out on the home screen and see which model takes your fancy without having to click through. It’s a seemingly small quality-of-life feature, but it greatly affects user satisfaction. 

The streams themselves are generally quite high quality, given the site’s emphasis on free content. There are a whole bunch of HD streams on the site, and even the SD feeds tend to be of pretty good quality. 

If for some reason, you’re accessing cam sites off your 56k modem, there’s an option to reduce the quality down to 360p available on most feeds. 

The site does fine on mobile, too, offering a clean and crisp interface that shows previews of the thumbnails and makes for a fluid scrolling experience. 

All in all, you can’t really argue with Camsoda’s design. 

Camsoda Pricing 

Camsoda operates using the previously-mentioned “freemium” model. You can see a lot of stuff for free, but there is the option to purchase tokens. 

These tokens can be used to tip models, buy private chats/group chats, activate Lovense sex toys, and send messages. 

Private shows are the staple of many cam sites, and though they’re not quite as popular on Camsoda (where the freemium shows are the real draw), they can still be found. 

They’re a tad on the expensive side, though, if we’re being honest, and will run you around $6/min. 

One plus point for private shows, however, is that you can record the session and play it back at your leisure. 

It’s also worth having a look around; you may be able to find girls willing to go private for less, but it depends on how much money they’re making in their regular open chat.

Because of the nature of Camsoda, it’s quite often more lucrative for them to stick to open chat and accept tips than to go into a private chat (hence the cost). 

Camsoda’s take on the group show is called a “ticket show”. These work a little differently from group shows on other cam sites; the model sets a target number of tickets, and the viewers then buy said tickets. 

When the goal has been reached, the ticket show is launched. Ticket shows may be clipped by the model for later viewing. 

Finally, there is a premium account option. This gets you a bunch of tokens a month and unlocks the ability to always message models. You can also adjust tip size, and you don’t have to worry about ads again. 

The tokens are usually $29.99 for 300, but at the time of writing (January 2023), Camsoda offered them for half price, meaning that they’d set you back a mere $14.99. 

Outside of this promotional deal, the tokens are the same as any other cam site’s proprietary currency – the more you buy, the cheaper they get. 

You can get 550 tokens at the upper limit for $49.99; the cheapest package is 50 for $5.99.  

What I Like About Camsoda 

Camsoda is the best free cam site on the internet, period. Nowhere else will you see performers this willing to get naked, use sex toys, do blowjob shows, squirt all over the camera, take creampies from male cam models etc., without a penny exchanging hands. 

This is down to how the site incentivises public shows with the constant stream of tips and gifts sent by viewers, and the amount of free pussy on display draws in more and more viewers. It’s hard to argue with this particular approach to a cam site. 

There’s also a really decent selection of performers online at any given time – if you’re into girls (whether trans or cis). If you’re into guys, of course, it’s another story… 

What I Don’t Like About Camsoda 

As stated above, you’re kinda screwed if you’re not a fan of girls. Cam soda should look at getting more male models on their site because, as I previously mentioned, you’re looking at less than double digits. 

On top of this, the prices for private shows are aggressively priced. I get why they do this (to encourage free shows that pull new viewers in), but it’s definitely not everybody’s cup of tea, and it may drive some people to ImLive or LiveJasmin. 

Conclusion 

A freemium site that really lives up to the ‘free’ part of its name, Camsoda is one of the best budget-friendly sites around and, at the very least, one that’s worth checking out even if you don’t intend to spend a penny.
