Extreme No Fap? North Korea Creates Anti-Porn Death Squads

We all know about the No Fap movement on Reddit. These guys have taken a different road to proud perverts like us and have forsaken porn entirely. Each to their own, I guess.

But in North Korea, the No Fap challenge is being taken to the next level. Anti-porn death squads have been created in the secretive and dystopian state largely cut off from the rest of the world,

The order is said to have come directly from the top of the North Korean leadership via the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un. The chubby despot has vowed to murder anyone who watches porn.

Facts About Porn in North Korea

In an isolated country without generally accessible internet, you might be wondering how people even get porn in North Korea. Let’s look at some facts!

  • Porn consumption in the DPRK began in the 1990s when the country’s elites began to indulge heavily in smut, despite brutally punishing ordinary people for doing the same.
  • The bulk of porn consumed in North Korea comes from abroad, mainly in China, and some North Koreans living on the DPRK-China border are able to access Chinese porn sites.
  • When Kim Jong-un executed his uncle Jang Song-thaek in 2013, one of his charges was listed as distributing pornography.
  • The punishment for porn-related offences is either death or ten to fifteen years of hard labour in a North Korean Gulag, known locally as a re-education camp.

The Tyrannical Grip is Tightening

And it’s not just porn the newly formed hit squad has been formed to tackle; they’re also assigned the task of weeding out foreign TV, “revolutionary” haircuts, and even birthday celebrations.

The Seoul-based Database Centre for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) claimed in a report that the tyrannical grip Kim Jong-un has on the nation is getting even more severe.

Punishments are said to be becoming more commonplace and for increasingly smaller offences, with harsh punishments being dished out for anything from driving offences, skipping work and adultery to practising religion, dying your hair, and partaking in what the regime calls “decadent culture” such as birthday celebrations or other parties.

In the report, testimony from a North Korean defector claimed that people inside the DPRK had been murdered by the regime for consuming porn, and it’s one of the worst “crimes” that a person can carry out.

First, They Check How You Dress

The defector added an additional insight into how the regime controls the people. They carry out inspections to see what kind of clothes they wear, the kind of musical tastes they have and the videos they’re consuming. Plus, the authorities will also check if you’ve dyed your hair.

Aside from being murdered for watching porn, one of the more bizarre announcements made by the regime is the ban on birthday parties. The reason behind it is as ridiculous as you can imagine,

The biggest concern the regime has surrounding ordinary people having parties of any kind is that when alcohol is consumed, it’s inevitable that the drunken crowd will probably start singing songs from the regime’s mortal enemy, South Korea.

A separate report coming out of the dictatorship country revealed that four local students had been banished from university and sent to work in a gruelling coal mine. The reason? The regime had decided that they’d been watching foreign television illegally and were beginning to develop dialect and slang from South Korea.

Remember How Fortunate You Are

So, always remember how fortunate you are to have the opportunity to watch pornography without fear of brutal persecution because millions of people around the world aren’t so lucky.
